About NIFTi
NIFTi is about human-robot cooperation. About teams of robots and humans doing tasks together, trying to reach a shared goal. NIFTi looks at how the robot could bear the human in mind. Literally. When determining what to do or say next, when, and how. NIFTi puts the human factor into cognitive robots.   Each year, NIFTi evaluates its systems together with several USAR organizations. Rescue personnel teams up with NIFTi robots to carry out realistic missions, in real-life training areas.

NIFTi made an appearance in a recent article on rescue robotics, published in c’t (2/2012, “Autonome Vorhut: Neue Techniken bei Rettungsrobotern”). The article was followed by a two-page interview with Geert-Jan Kruijff (DFKI LT, coordinator NIFTi). Also, the NIFTi robot recently made the cover of a magazine - the Journal of Field Robotics (Jan/Feb 2012).

NIFTi will also feature in an upcoming article on Artificial Intelligence, to appear in FOCUS Magazine. The NIFTi robot recently made the cover of a magazine, namely the Journal of Field Robotics (Jan/Feb 2012). The photo was made, and submitted by, ETHZ.
