NIFTi organizes Autumn School
In November, NIFTi organizes an autumn school around the theme of human-robot cooperation.
The autumn school lasts 5 days, starting at 7 November 2011 until 11 November 2011. The typical layout of a course day consists of lectures in the morning, followed by a lunch break and practical assignments and exercises in the afternoon. The school is organized by TNO Soesterberg (Netherlands), and is held at the TNO premises.
The goal of this autumn school is two-fold. First, students are introduced to theories and technology related to different aspects of human-robot interaction and cooperation. Lectures will be given by leading scientists working in human-robot interaction and robotics. The lecturers have been chosen because of their interest in advanced interaction technologies, user interface design, computer vision, human factors, strategies for adaptive multi-modal team communication, flexible robot planning, and spatio-temporal models for situation awareness. Second, the students gain hands-on experience with project components, and integration methodology, by working in multi-disciplinary teams on assignments.
