About NIFTi
NIFTi is about human-robot cooperation. About teams of robots and humans doing tasks together, interacting together to try and reach a shared goal. NIFTi looks at how the robot could bear the human in mind. Literally. When determining what to do or say next in human-robot interaction; when, and how. NIFTi puts the human factor into cognitive robots, and human-robot team interaction in particular.   Each year, NIFTi evaluates its systems together with several USAR organizations. Rescue personnel teams up with NIFTi robots to carry out realistic missions, in real-life training areas.

Rescue Robotics Camp 2013, Oct 21-23, Linköping

NIFTi is co-organizing the SSRR Rescue Camp which will be collocated with the IEEE International Symposium on Safety, Security, and Rescue Robotics.

The Rescue Robotics Camp 2013 is based on a long tradition of providing state-of-the-art techniques in rescue robotics to young researcher and students participating in competition such as RoboCup. The camp focuses on a sound understanding of the techniques by the participants, as well as the development of open source software modules based on ROS that the participants can immediately reuse in their daily work. The main theme of the 2013 edition is perception and navigation in challenging 3D environments. These topics are on the one hand vibrant research areas and on the other hand crucial capabilities for rescue robots.
